Primary Workshops for Schools

Turn Back Time Dance Workshop

Dance has always been and will always be a huge part of our lives and a massive form of communication and expression in every culture on the planet. Dance has evolved throughout the time; from the 1920s with the Charleston through to the 202s with various Tik Tok dances, people always had different styles of dance to express the way they were feeling. This can be best explored during one of our Turn Back Time dance workshops as it not only demonstrates that change but it brings period of historical importance to life.

Our Turn Back Time dance workshop is an excellent opportunity for children to connect to periods of historical importance.  Due to the flexible nature of this workshop, each session can cover a different period and there are so many options to choose from such as:

  • 1920’s – Charleston, Jitterbug
  • 1930’s – Mambo
  • 1940’s – Jive, Swing
  • 1950’s – Rock ‘n’ Roll, Lindy-Hop
  • 1960’s – Twist, Cha-Cha-Cha
  • 1970’s – Disco
  • 1980’s – Hip-Hop
  • 1990’s – Macarena, Line Dance, Lambada
  • 2000’s – Zumba, Street

If there is a particular time period or dance style that would fit with your requirements, our workshop advisors would be happy to bespoke your day for you. We can cater for a single class or multiple classes so whatever your requirements, we can create a workshop to suit.

Our ‘Turn Back Time’ dance workshop links perfectly with International weeks, Healthy Eating week, Culture weeks or in with a particular topic.

For more information on our Turn Back Time Dance Workshop, give us a call on 01536 265432 or email us on [email protected].

Workshop Performance

Workshop & Performance

Workshop Sessions:

Up to 8 sessions

During a typical day-long workshop, Primary Workshops for Schools can work with up to 30 children in a session and deliver 6 sessions, stretching to 8 if required. The workshop can then end with a performance from the children during which they can showcase the moves they’ve learnt throughout the day and develop in confidence.
