Our exciting birds of prey workshops help pupils learn about birds of prey in a safe, controlled environment. This close-up experience helps to build confidence, as well as making the day truly memorable. At Primary Workshops for Schools, our thrilling Birds of Prey workshops can help children learn about birds of prey in a safe, managed, and controlled environment.
They can cover a range of curriculum-based topics such as habitats, food chains, life cycles, and conservation. Sessions include learning about and meeting a wide variety of birds, and the children can even get involved when the birds are flying.
We can start the day with an exciting assembly and then we can cater to up to 6 classes of 30 across the day. We can then finish the day with an amazing flying demonstration to awe the whole school!
Who is it for?
Our Birds of Prey workshops for schools can be linked to various subjects such as Science, History or even the Art and Creative Writing! They are a great way to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures.
How it works
What makes our Birds of Prey Workshop fun and engaging?
In our Birds of Prey workshops, children get up close with a range of birds, including owls, hawks and falcons. Our expert handlers guide them through hands-on learning sessions where they can observe these magnificent creatures in action and even witness their flight first-hand.
The day is packed with interaction, engagement, and opportunities to connect classroom learning with the real world. And the grand finale? A flying demonstration that turns your school field or playground into a mini bird arena.
The importance of learning about Birds of Prey
Learning about birds of prey sparks curiosity, encourages critical thinking, and fosters a connection to the natural world in a meaningful way. These birds aren’t just fascinating. They’re essential parts of food chains and ecosystems, making them ideal teaching tools across multiple topics.
This workshop encourages observation, discussion, and discovery. It brings topics such as adaptation, predator-prey relationships, and conservation to life. For many children, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with wildlife they’d otherwise never experience.
