Discover the fun of turning everyday objects into a lively “Junk” orchestra with our engaging Junk Percussion workshop. Our Junk Percussion workshops offer a creative and engaging way for children to explore recycling and sustainability while pushing the boundaries of music and rhythm. We can kick off the day with an exciting assembly.
This hands-on workshop not only fosters teamwork but also encourages self-expression, leaving your children with a great sense of achievement as they discover that rhythm is everywhere. We can conclude the day with a vibrant performance, showcasing the childrens’ newfound skills.
Who is it for?
At Primary Workshops for Schools, our Junk Percussion workshops align perfectly with subjects such as Science, the Art, Music, and Design Technology. They’re a hit during Arts Week, World Music Day, and support your school’s eco-friendly initiatives as well as enhancing curriculum topics.
Throughout the day, up to 8 classes of 30 children will have a blast creating music with everyday objects, learning how to transform them into a lively “junk” orchestra.
How it works
What makes our Junk Percussion Workshop fun and unique?
Our Junk Percussion workshops for schools transform ordinary recycled objects into extraordinary instruments. Children learn to play rhythms, create group beats, and work as a team, all while building awareness of sustainability. No musical background is needed, just enthusiasm and the freedom to make sounds.
Why Junk Percussion
This workshop blends music education with key environmental messages. It sparks creativity, teaches rhythm and co-ordination, and encourages the children to think differently about waste and reuse. It also helps foster group collaboration, self-expression, and a sense of pride in creating something from nothing.
How our Junk Percussion Workshops can help
For Children
Children leave feeling confident, creative, and connected. They gain rhythm skills, learn all about recycling and sustainability, and discover that music doesn’t require traditional instruments.
