Celebrate Chinese New Year with our Chinese Dance Workshops!
Chinese New Year is a time of light, colour, and celebration – a festival that symbolises new beginnings, prosperity, and joy. There’s no better way to bring this energy to your school than with one of our Chinese Dance Workshop from Primary Workshops for Schools. These immersive sessions fill classrooms with rhythm, movement, and creativity, helping children experience the magic of this special celebration first-hand.
Why Choose Our Chinese Dance Workshops 🎊
Our Chinese Dance workshops are designed to align beautifully with Chinese New Year, Arts Weeks, Cultural Weeks, and International Days.
Chinese Dance
Chinese dance is graceful, expressive, and rich in symbolism. Often using props such as authentic fabric fans, and parasols to create flowing, elegant movements that mirror elements of nature. This style is ideal for developing coordination, balance, and self-expression. Children enjoy learning how movement and rhythm can tell a story without words.
Chinese Dragon Workshop
The Dragon Dance is one of the most iconic symbols of Chinese New Year. It represents strength, good fortune, and prosperity, and is performed to drive away bad luck and welcome positive energy for the year ahead. In this high-energy activity, children work together to move the dragon in a flowing, wave-like motion. The dance requires teamwork, timing, and communication, making it a perfect group challenge. As the dragon twists, turns, and glides to the beat of the drum, children learn how cooperation brings the story – and the dragon – to life!
Chinese Lion Dance Workshop
The Lion Dance is a bold and lively performance that symbolises courage, happiness, and good luck. Two dancers work together inside the lion costume, coordinating movement, rhythm, and expression to mimic the playful spirit of the lion. The lion’s expressive face and acrobatic movements never fail to captivate audiences, making it an unforgettable part of any Chinese New Year celebration.
